Richlands, Virginia (Nov. 17, 2015) – Peter Mulkey, CEO, Clinch Valley Health, received the American College of Healthcare Executives Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award at the Clinch Valley Health Board and Medical Executive Committee meeting held on November 4, 2015.

The award was bestowed on Peter Mulkey by Glen Washington, Regent for West Virginia and Western Virginia. The Senior-Level Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award recognizes ACHE members who are experienced in the field and have made significant contributions to the advancement of healthcare management excellence and the achievement of ACHE’s goals.

Members are evaluated on leadership ability; innovative and creative management; executive capability in developing their own organization and promoting its growth and stature in the community; contributions to the development of others in the healthcare profession; leadership in local, state, or provincial hospital and health association activities; participation in civic/community activities and projects; participation in ACHE activities; and interest in assisting ACHE in achieving its objectives.

Mulkey has served as CEO at Clinch Valley Health since June 2013. Prior to this, he served as COO at Clinch Valley Health. Mulkey is board certified in healthcare management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, demonstrating a commitment to professional excellence. He is also a member of the Lions Club and Richlands Chamber of Commerce.

Mulkey received his Pharm.D. degree from Mercer University in Atlanta, GA, and his MHA Degree from Trinity University, in San Antonio, TX.
