The Tazewell Chamber of Commerce held their annual membership dinner recently in Tazewell.
This event presents an opportunity for all the members of the business community to gather and enjoy some time to renew relationships, make new connections, and celebrate the mission of advancing the local business community of Tazewell County.
Clinch Valley Health CEO Peter Mulkey welcomed the group and highlighted the speakers including keynote speaker about the importance of personal & professional branding, Kristina Rose.
The winner of the 2026 Citizen of the Year was Gene Hurst Jr., founder of Hurst Scott Funeral Homes, located in Richlands and Tazewell, Virginia. Jim Talbert, the 2025 Citizen of the Year, made the presentation to Jeff Hurst in memory of his father Gene, honoring him as the 2026 Tazewell County Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year. A reminder of a compassionate tribute to a great man, inspiring all of us to reach for the stars with love, integrity and community leadership.
