RICHLANDS, VA — Clinch Valley Health celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness Month by bringing employees together to support a cause that impacts individuals and families throughout Southwest Virginia. Through an employee T-shirt fundraiser, the hospital raised $1,450 for the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation, with the funds designated to support individuals and families in the region.
The fundraiser encouraged employees to show their support for breast cancer awareness while making a meaningful difference in the communities Clinch Valley Health serves. On Friday, employees proudly wore their breast cancer awareness shirts as a visible reminder of the importance of early detection, education, and community support.
A key part of Clinch Valley Health’s breast cancer awareness efforts is the work of Leanne Keen, Hereditary Cancer Coordinator, who helps advance awareness and education surrounding hereditary cancer risk. Through her work, Keen plays an important role in helping individuals better understand their cancer risk and the resources available to them. Her work reflects Clinch Valley Health’s commitment to supporting patients beyond the walls of the hospital through education, awareness, and access to information that can help individuals make informed decisions about their health.
The employee fundraiser also demonstrated the impact of teamwork and community-minded initiatives. Every shirt purchased contributed to the total donation, allowing employees across the organization to participate in a shared effort to support those affected by breast cancer.
“Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an important opportunity to highlight the impact breast cancer has on individuals and families while encouraging education, awareness, and support,” said the Clinch Valley Health team. “We are incredibly proud of our employees for coming together to raise $1,450 for the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation. Their generosity reflects the compassion and commitment our team brings to the communities we serve.”
The funds will help support the Virginia Breast Cancer Foundation’s efforts to assist individuals and families in Southwest Virginia, making the fundraiser especially meaningful to the Clinch Valley Health team.
Clinch Valley Health extends its sincere thanks to every employee who purchased a shirt and participated in the fundraiser. Through efforts like this, the organization continues to demonstrate that small acts of generosity can create a lasting impact.
As Breast Cancer Awareness Month continues to emphasize the importance of education, early detection, and support, Clinch Valley Health remains committed to helping make a difference for patients, families, and the community.
